Just last week, we put in an application for one of Magnum's  apartments: we offered full price, had no issues with our application and were told we were approved. We had a deposit down and were all set to sign the lease when they tell us the current tenant is possibly resigning and we have to wait a day to find out. Sure enough, a day later, they tell us the old tenant is definitely resigning...

As frustrating as this all was, we were gracious about it and started the search all over again... That very same night, we're searching on craigslist and what do we see??? Our apartment... Only it's listed at a higher price. This company is deceitful and sleazy, the epitome of a manipulative real estate company.

After this experience, I looked into them some more and learned of their general reputation: poor service, bedbugs, etc. Apparently, they ignore their lower rent buildings almost entirely.New Yorkers, beware!
The bedbug incident (among others) I heard about was in 504 East 12th Street.
