I decided to give this place a shot since I always pass it on the way to work. The service was terrible. The lady taking my order looked like she was annoyed that a customer was there. The food was very bland and the portion size was small. I am middle eastern and know this type of food very well. Please save yourself the dissapointment and steer clear of the Pita Grill.

I ate here a while ago and really enjoyed it! Although I am no expert on this type of food! Smile

Bland and overpriced. Spice up the taste, or dumb down the price!

I live in the neighborhood.  I eat here a lot (twice a week).  It's a relatively healthy alternative to other fast food joints, but I totally agree with the prior negative comments.  The employees act like they are so pissed off that they have customers, the food sucks/is bland, and it is WAY overpriced.  The sketchiest part is when you walk in the prices are covered up...which basically just says, yes we jacked our prices up to exorbitant levels.  I think it's like $12 for a grilled chicken salad which is literally just lettuce, tomato, two big pieces of chicken breast and dressing.  It's unfortunate because I really like the place and the food is decent (read: not excellent), but I've definitely cut back because it is just way too overpriced.

Completely agree with comments about bland, overpriced food. I used to order a LOT from the location on 9 Ave in the 50s. However, they messed up our order every single time (not kidding) and my husband got so furious, we no longer order from there. I would have to call every time we got our food and explain what was missing and the employees a.) didn't care and b.) didn't try to fix it.

I found that the employees at Pita Grill on 2nd/56 St tend to be nicer than the ones at the 9 Ave/50s location.

I hope that the General Manager works with the employees on customer service and takes into consideration the comments about taste/pricing of food. I used to like Pita Grill a lot and would consider becoming a customer again but it would really take a shaking up of the staff and service.

I too used to enjoy Pita Grill.  I have learned from a former employee that they have cut their portion size along with changed food vendors due to not paying their bills.  That could account for the bland, poor tasting food. Either way their is no excuse for their poor service and attitude when viviting their stores!  I personally wont be contributing to them anymore as i seem to always  leave feeling dissapointed.

people all over this website are bitching about over priced food...do any of you have any clue what stores pay for rent in this town today????

they have to charge a premium for stuff you would expect to pay less for.. now dpending on when they signed the lease or if they own the bldg this will vary, but come on people..

this is new york city, shit is expensive here.. get ready for it or get the hell out!!! and stop being cheap assholes!
